Neither of them is laughing at the paper. this is a social event. at this point the kid's laughing cos his father's laughing and vice versa. The ripping of the paper is an agreement between them - an event that triggers their shared experience of joy. this little boy is developing social skills. and being really cute while at it.

I remember when my little dude was that age, people thought I had gone insane because I was in hysterics everyday! Such a wonder age & time. Athetic...
