No, he's not crazy. He doesn't think the dolls are real girls, and he can tell the difference between fantasy and reality. He's just spent a lot of time by himself, a lot of time getting hurt by real women, and gradually this lifestyle came to seem like a good idea. I mean, I haven't been through what this guy's been through, and I don't think I could make a fair judgement of his character from three minutes of video.

Gert Frobe had by far the most sane and relevant comment on the page. There is no evidence of delusion here. His choices are made and he understands the ramifications there of and also clearly states that of millions, possibly one or two share his views. As to the armoury, How many weapons collectors are there in the world, really? I'd say more than a few. He states he never leaves his house except to work and a monthly grocery trip. His only human interaction at this point in his life is his boss. He is content and has found a peace for himself. Why would you deny him that. There is no need for fear here. The readiness of some to jump to paranoid conclusions startles me more than his admittedly singular world views. Give him no harm and he will return none.

Actually its really quite sad. He's so emotionally fragile, probably from being abused by that very same mother who gave him the sword, that he's terrified of having a real relationship, so he has his dolls. Its probably the saddest and most pathetic thing I've seen. What a horrible way to live and lose your life and to never feel a woman's caress or enjoy her kind and loving smile. This is really sad. He honestly feels like at 39 he can find no one. Really, because I know a lot of people that are 50 and dating and having a good time, not fucking dolls. To answer Bryan's question, he lives in Rural Virginia. I lived in rural Virginia and everybody there was on food stamps, welfare, and disability because they said they had nerve problems, he must of had a decent job to afford his realdoll, not to mention the small arsenal he has. I just finished watching the documentary and was freaked out at first but couldn't stop watching, I was disturbed yet intrigued. I will probably have nightmares of dolls now :(
